UAE Flag Day
It is celebrated annually on November 3, the day of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s accession as President of the UAE. His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, called upon all UAE citizens and government departments to hoist the UAE flag on Monday, Flag Day, as a sign of national unity.
In a school, organization is critical, as is the inclusion of students as part of that organization. The position of prefect is a position of responsibility and one that provides an important connection between students and staff. The prefect team has an important role throughout the entire school community: they are responsible for helping set the tone amongst the student body and for maintain and enhancing the culture of the school.

This year’s selected prefects are: Hessa AlMansoori (Head Girl), Maryam AlMazrooei (Deputy Head Girl), Dana Raheef, Amna Kayani, Rhoda Obaid and Mariam AlRahmah (House Prefects), Rahima AbdulWakil (Deputy Prefect), Rodha AlDoei (Office Prefect), Nehaa Pirzada (Community & PR Prefect) and Eloise Nobbs (Extracurricular Activities Prefect).
Student councils often serve to engage students in learning about service and leadership. It creates the opportunity for students to become effective leaders, thus encouraging and influencing a positive school climate.

Ms. Lakshmi Priya is DWCHS’ math learning coach.
Our students visited the Seniors Home in Dubai. They shared some gifts with the residents there and they definitely put a smile on every resident’s face.
We visited the Pink Caravan, responsible for helping breast cancer patients residing in the UAE, to deliver the donation we raised through our Bake Sale on October 31st, 2013.
